This is a fun chick lit read for fans of Bridget Jones Diary and Sophie Kinsella. In the story, we meet Madison Lee, fresh out of college. And now she is ready to begin her career in the world of print media. The only catch is that Madison can’t seem to find a job. Employment rates are on the rise, leaving Madison desperate and out of options.
At the end of her rope, Madison decides to take a position as a customer service representative at a call center in Idaho. Maddy begins working at the Lightning Speed call center and is soon introduced to the dysfunctional world of telemarketing and customer service with more of an emphasis on sales than service. A typical eight hour shift means eight hours of taking abuse from customers over the phone. But Maddy still tries to find humor both on and off the telephone.
The constant drama from the call center means that there is never a dull moment in Maddy’s life. And on top of that, she has her eye on her gorgeous coworker Mika. If you’ve ever worked at a call center or in customer service, you’ll appreciate the witty dose of reality this novel has to offer.
