I Don’t How She Does It by Allison Pearson Review

In case you missed this novel when it hit the theaters, I Don’t How She Does It is now a major motion picture starring Sarah Jessica Parker. What’s not to love?

In this book we meet the smart, ball busting, hedge fund manager Kate Reddy, who is also a wife and mother of two. Kate has to juggle nine different currencies in five time zones each day and still make time to watch the Teletubbies with her kids. To cope, Kate measures her days down to the minute and, in some cases, down to the second. While she keeps her work life organized, her family seems to be falling apart.

One day, Kate finds herself awake at 1:37 AM in the morning, anxious over her need to make a homemade pie for her daughter’s class. She finally admits that her life is out of control and has become far from what she hoped it would be…

This is a novel with a leading lady that so many readers can relate to, especially if you’re a working mom. Kate is a character that you will be rooting for since you desperately want it to work out for her in the end. If you’ve seen the movie, it’s time to read the book!
