PS I Love You by Cecelia Ahern Review

You may have seen the movie PS I Love You starring Hilary Swank, but now it’s time to read the book. In my opinion, the book is vastly different from the movie since you will get a personal glimpse into the witty, charming, and certainly emotional demeanor of Holly, a woman who has recently lost her husband to a brain tumor.

Holly’s husband Gerry has left her a series of letters to open throughout the year to help her move on with her life after his death. The novel moves throughout the different seasons, according to the letters left by Gerry. Holly attempts to go back to work, take a trip to Spain with her girlfriends, and finally go through all of her husband’s belongings to reorganize her house. Holly moves humorously through the healing process with a quirky group of friends and family that add much emotional depth to the plot.

Of course, be prepared that PS I Love You is definitely a tearjerker, yet it also has the funny, endearing chick lit moments that I so love. Holly’s circle of girlfriends will make you think of your own best gal pals as they support Holly the best that they know how during her time of need.

(4.5/5)
